Sketch Design + Design Guidelines

Sketch proposals for the restoration/ improvement of a prominent listed terrace frontage in the historic centre of Stirling to form the first phase of a Townscape Heritage Initiative programme.

The study involved the formulation of restoration guidelines and the production of proposals to illustrate how these might be applied with a view to encouraging property owners to participate in a grant aided improvement scheme.

The proposals aimed to strike a balance between historical accuracy through the reintroduction of original building features and the current requirements of an increasingly wide range of occupiers who had converted a number of the, originally residential, properties to other uses which included a restaurant, offices and a bank.
