Feasibility to Implementation

The overall planning, design, implementation and management of the open space network within Livingston New Town, undertaken with the basic aim of providing a wide range of countryside experiences within a town setting.

This work, carried out over a number of years, involved the design of parks, amenity open space, road corridors and water course ‘greenway’ routes, together with associated play areas, picnic areas, landmark sculptures, footpaths and bridleways whilst also protecting important wildlife habitats, increasing habitat diversity and enhancing natural features.

The work was carried out in close consultation with Scottish Natural Heritage, The Scottish Countryside Trust, SEPA and variety of other environmental protection agencies.
