Associate Landscape Architect

Brian is a landscape architect with substantial experience of design and landscape planning projects in both rural and urban locations from initial appraisal through design stages as well as development masterplanning, landscape planning and landscape & visual impact assessment.

Prior to joining Urban Design Futures he was a principal of registered landscape practices for over 25 years and provided services to private and public sector clients and often in the context of multi disciplinary project teams. In collaboration with public agencies, local authorities and community groups he has developed regeneration plans and strategies. He has relevant experience as an expert witness at Public Local Inquiry on landscape issues with regard to rural developments.

He has a particular interest in the rural landscape as a resource that is changing over time and working on historic land use and the archaeological, vernacular, ecological and cultural aspect of sites and their landscape context.
