COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We regard community engagement as a key part of our work and an essential ingredient for the success of most projects. It provides us with a far greater understanding of an area: its history, its needs and its dynamics than could ever be gained by visual survey alone. It empowers local communities, promoting action and a sense of communal responsibility. And, for most of the time at least, it is highly enjoyable, stimulating and rewarding process.
We aim to engage with the local community - through existing groups and organisations wherever possible - at the outset of a project and continue the process to completion and beyond. Methods are tailored to suit the requirements of any particular project but will typically involve public meetings, workshops, working groups, exhibitions and school and youth projects.
