PARKS AND PLAY
Our work relating to parks + play ranges from heritage gardens to skateparks. We aim to design parks and play areas that provide an imaginative and sensitive approach to physical context and user needs whether these be for peace and tranquillity, allotment gardening, sport or play and frequently develop our design proposals in close collaboration with future user groups.
We are strongly committed to an approach in which play is seen as an creative, enjoyable and educational activity that should be integrated within the environment and the belief that, whilst there is an undoubted need for bespoke elements and special areas, the majority of such activities should be carried out in, and make full use of, the natural environment. We apply this general approach wherever possible to produce designs that encourage ‘natural play’ and support related principles as incorporated in the ‘forest schools’ and similar initiatives.
