REGENERATION + ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT
Our regeneration and environmental improvement work extends to both rural and urban locations, ranging from the preparation of access, interpretation, public arts and signage strategies to the creation of private outdoor space in council housing estates.The majority of the work has been concentrated in disadvantaged residential areas where projects normally extend from inception to completion and will typically involve improvements to public open space, play space, parking, street lighting and soft landscaping, often on a phased basis.
In all of our regeneration projects we work in close collaboration with the local community from the outset, normally through a programme of public meetings and workshops and the formation of working groups to ensure that the improvements meet the real needs of the end user and foster a strong sense of public ownership. Many of the projects also involve collaboration with environmental artists who are able to provide an added dimension to the work through the ‘hands-on’ involvement of schools and youth groups.
