Arniston Development Framework
Client : Midlothian Council
The preparation of a development framework for the western extension Gorebridge in Midlothian to accommodate approximately 500 dwellings together with a primary school, a park and associated support facilities.
The development framework was prepared as a basis for planning and design guidelines for the site and for discussion and negotiation with the prospective developer and his design team. When complete the development will result in the creation of a new main access into the town and particular care was therefore required to ensure that the framework would complement the existing structure of the town and strengthen its legibility.
The framework was prepared in close collaboration with Council officials.
